This post is coming to you a bit late...because I completely forgot about it :P
I was thinking about starting monthly favorites posts for a while now and I finally decided to do it. July really flew by, I was mostly working 10 or 12 hour shifts so I hardly had any time to myself, but I still managed to throw something on my face to stop from looking like an overtired zombie.
Here's what I loved the past month.
First let's start with skin.
I literally only used the Esteé Lauder Double Wear Foundation (I use the shade 2W2 Rattan). It's incredibly lightweight considering how much coverage it provides and the amount of time it lasts on my skin.
To set it I use the Catrice All Matt Plus shine control powder. It mattifies my skin without adding too much color and it makes everything super smooth.
I never used concealer but I decided to give it a go and I bought the Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Eye Cream. This really changed my mind when it comes to under eye concealers. It's light but pigmented, moisturizing but long-lasting and it doesn't cake up (even after the four layers I applied when I was testing it out).
After using a long lasting foundation and setting it with a mattifying powder my skin looked pretty dull. And that's where the Catrice Prime and Fine Highlighting Powder came in. It looks a bit pink in the pan but it gives your skin a beautiful glow, without looking shimmery or glittery.
Red lips have really been my go to this past month and I've been loving the Art Deco Soft Lip Liner waterproof (shade 8) paired with the AVON Extra Lasting Lipstick (shade Eternal Flame). You can read more about that combo here.
When I felt like wearing a red lip but still wanted something moisturizing the Revlon Lip Butter (shade 063 Wild Watermelon) was my go-to. It's creamy, bright and super comfortable to wear.
I finally got the guts to wear an orange lipstick and I looooooved it. I used the Catrice Ultimate Colour Lipstick (shade 260 It's A Matt World) which is a reddish neon orange (and completely matte). It lasted well too, which was a pleasant surprise.
Now just so you don't think I lost my mind completely I also used a neutral lipstick throughout July. And it was a Maybelline lipstick in the shade 720 Mocha Muse (I have no idea which line it's from).
As far as lip balms go, I still love my Burt's Bees honey lip balm but I also discovered the Labello Lip butter (vanilla & macadamia) which is really nice and smells divine.
When I had more time to play with my makeup I looooooved using the Too Faced Boudoir Eyes palette (review coming very soon). All of the colors in it are really beautiful and you can create countless looks with it.
I actually managed to hit pan on an eyeshadow and it's the Regal eyeshadow from the Sleek Storm eyeshadow palette. I use this color every single day to fill in my brows. It's the perfect medium cool toned brown.
I hope you guys enjoyed my July favorites, I know it was a bit long and I am working on starting a Youtube channel which will make things like this a lot faster. Anyway I hope you give some of these products a go, I really enjoy all of them.
