Essence brought out these ''How to'' sets a while ago and I've had the chance to play around with them a bit. Here are my thought on them :)
Each of these palettes comes with 6 eyeshadows, an applicator that has a sponge on one end and a brush on the other (not really worth the space it takes up), a decent mirror and two cards that show you how to create two different looks.
HOW TO MAKE NUDE EYES
Go for gold is a light beige-y gold.
An eye on apricot is a shimmery apricot shade
All about nude is a taupe.
Nude night out is a dark brown.
Team nude is a warm medium brown.
The shades come out quite different from what they look like in the pan. They're decently pigmented, however we all know Essence can do much much better.
HOW TO MAKE BRIGHT EYES
Eyes bright open is a satin coral shade.
Team bright is a champagne shade.
Vanilla eyes is a shimmery beige.
Natural beauty is a light pink with glitter.
The irresistible is a greyish-white.
I don't really see myself using this palette on it's own. The colors are all brightening as the name would suggest, however that makes it more of a highlight palette. The Natural Beauty shade, hardly shows up and the rest are very sheer as well.
Overall I don't think I've used each of these palettes more than once. The nude one is nicely pigmented but the fact that the shades come off completely different on the skin than what they look in the pan, has screwed up my makeup too many times (I don't really have the time to look at photos of my swatches when I'm getting ready in the morning). I love Essence as a brand but these palettes were definitely a miss for me, especially since I know damn well that they can do better! :P
