So, I'm skipping this week's #spotlightsunday and sharing my first month of weight loss with you.
Here's how it went.
Soooo... I failed.
I did manage to drop a couple of kg, but halfway through the month I failed completely.
I don't really care about the lost kilos, I just hate how I felt for the second half of January and I loved how I felt for the first half.
The harsh truth: The last time I weighed myself I ended up in tears. The scale said 102kg.
On 15th of January 2015 it said 97kg.
I know I didn't lose 5kg in 15 days, however I did it somewhere along the way.
For the first two weeks I was on a roll. I was working out every morning, my diet changed completely - no more junk food, I only drank water and tea, I ALWAYS ate breakfast...
And I had absolutely no chocolate, candy or anything sugary. I even managed to reduce my intake of carbs (I remember going almost completely carb free for a month and I felt much better, so I decided to give it another go).
But I did it all at once. I drastically changed everything with January 1st (I'm a sucker for resolutions) and eventually I snapped.
I literally ate a 200g bag of Haribo candy in about 15min (two nights in a row) and I ate a tube of Pringles 3 nights in a row.
'Cause we all know that's the healthiest way to do things, riiiiiiiiiiiiiiight?
So here's what I'm gonna do about it.
I stayed on the band wagon as far as morning workouts go (10 min every morning - excluding Sundays), however I decided to go to the gym 2 times per week (better than going every day for two weeks and then quitting for a month).
The diet is going to be the hard part for me (and I'm guessing for most of the population of planet Earth).
I had absolutely no trouble with breakfast (I'll post my favorite ones soon) and only drinking water and tea, but I was hungry most of the time because I also reduced the size of my meals. And that's when your body starts storing fat! So I still want to have smaller meals, however I need to have more of them. I'm very guilty of procrastinating on 9gag for hours and being to lazy to make a healthy snack and when I finally eat, I over eat.
And I'm also a stress eater (there have been quite a few stressful events in the past two months), which needs to stop. I kinda have a feeling that a 20min workout will help a lot more than french fries.
So basically here's my plan:
- 10min morning workouts 6 days a week
- gym 2 times a week
- have more smaller meals, instead of 2 big ones
I know that making smaller changes is common sense for most people, I guess I had to learn the hard way. I seriously hope that I manage to lose weight this time, I need to get healthier and fast!
